As a new unit, we started "Wild Animals" last week. As a beginning, we started learning several wild animal names in the context of what those animals can or cannot do. We are going to go further in this topic and then we are going to  keep on learning about those animals:   what they have got as body parts, what their features are ( their colours, their sizes etc). We are going to do this unit for four weeks. Our students know most of the animal names from the last year. However, we are adding some new animal names to the ones already known ;) Below, you can see the list of wild animals we are going to learn :

elephant, crocodile, zebra, lion, tiger, lizard, penguin, bat, hippo, giraffe, snake, parrot, monkey, wolf, fox, dolphin, bear, gorilla.

Here are some wild and other animals songs that you can listen at home with your kids :)

Have a nice week!

Happy new year to everyone! May this new year be full of happiness and joy for all of you:) It has been a long time since we couldn't share what we are doing in our lessons; but we are coming back with two nice projects we did. The first one is our Venn diagrams! In order to categorize the objects according to certain qualities of them, we use these diagrams. Here are our projects:

The second project we did were about our clothes :) We  coloured the pictures of a boy and girl, we gave names to them and we wrote about what they were wearing. Look how nice they were coloured and how our kids wrote wonderful sentences about them :)

Hi everyone! This time we want to share with you the photos of our children while they were playing an English game called "Fish net" in physical education lessons last week. It was very tiring but very enjoyable. We had so much fun! :) Here are our lovely photos :

We also started our new unit "Come and Play" today. In this unit, we will increase our vocabulary and grammar knowledge by learning new toy names and vehicle names. Here is the first part of the vocabulary we are going to learn throughout the week :

We are also going to learn the structure "he/she has got ..." to talk about what the other people have got, in the context of a story named "Let's play".  We will revise this structure with the songs and speaking conversations in the class by talking about which toys, which vehicles each student has got :)

Here is a nice song video by which you can practise some of the toy names:

Hope you all have a nice week! See you soon!

Hello again everyone! After a long break, we are back again to show you how much we are learning and how much we are having fun in our classes! :)

Because we finished our second unit The Treehouse this week, we 'crowned' this with a nice project, the name of which is "My bedroom/ My room" :) We stuck the photos and wrote about our imaginary rooms/bedrooms using the structure "It (My room/ my bedroom/ the room) has got..." Thanks a lot for your cooperation with us by sending lovely pictures and the photos of the household objects!

This is being a very busy week for all the second graders! Yesterday we finished making our little story books, the name of which is "Let's make friends".The kids really loved the story and they read their own books with pleasure. Yesterday we also started telling our age and our friends' age and we will go on the topic tomorrow. As a beginning, we colored birthday cakes, wrote our names and ages under those cakes, and pin them on our lovely bulletin board. Here is a photo of the board :

Dear parents and students,

I am so excited to tell you that I will share what we do and will be doing during our English lessons throughout the year in class 2D via this blog! You will be able to see our children's photos, their videos, songs we are learning, powerpoints, stories and everything about English. Hope you will enjoy it ;) This week, we have learned "Days of the Week". Most of our kids already know them. However, because they are more engaged with reading and writing this year, they are now able to read and write the days of the week and put them in the correct order besides counting the days by heart. Here are some useful online game websites about "Days of the week". So you can play them with your children also at home. http://www.manythings.org/vocabulary/games/b/words.php?f=days_of_the_week http://www.roythezebra.com/reading-games/high-frequency-words-days.html http://www.turtlediary.com/kindergarten-games/math-games/weekdays.html Here are also some song videos and stories about the days of the week : STORIES ABOUT DAYS OF THE WEEK
